Teresa Favorite Juices

These juice  recipes are designed to be low glycemic. Therefore, there is very little fruit
used in the recipes. Most of them use lime or lemon for flavor, which are very
low in sugar and very alkaline in their breakdown. You can add an apple to any
of the recipes to improve the flavor as well. Green apples are lower in sugar
than red or yellow and are a good choice for the low-glycemic diet.

Carrots and beets are higher in sugar than other vegetables, but carrots are still in the
low-glycemic category and beets are in the moderate category. They both offer
excellent health benefits, so don’t omit them unless they adversely affect you.
You can dilute the sugars by adding very low sugar vegetables such as cucumber,
celery, and kale to your recipes.

The following  instructions apply to all recipes: Cut produce to fit your juicer’s feed tube. Always peel the lemons and limes. Peel cucumbers if not organic. Scrub the carrots well, top them, and trim the ends. Include celery leaves with stalks. Peel ginger root before juicing. Juice ingredients  and pour into a glass. Stir before serving and drink as soon as possible.

Any other special instructions will be included in the recipe to which it applies.
